With PeopleTools 7, the Cube Manager is being released -- it is a new tool in which the dimensions of a cube are defined, leveraging PeopleSoft meta-data. Once defined, the cube manager is used to create cubes for use by Cognos’ PowerPlay and Arbor’s Essbase.
PeopleSoft will be bundling a starter-set for PowerPlay -- each customer will receive 5 copies of PowerPlay. They can license additional copies from PS as needed. Support for the product will be through PS.
For data mart solutions, PS will be reselling the Arbor Essbase product.
