The Computer Information Systems Department’s “Sandbox” (the “Sandbox” for short) is a place for learning and technology.
The term “Sandbox” in industry refers to an environment for experimentation and trying new things.
The Sandbox supports students in CIS courses, IT 101, ITCA, and other courses with assistance in class assignments as well as general technology questions. The Sandbox is also a place to learn about, and with, new technology.
The term “Sandbox” in industry refers to an environment for experimentation and trying new things. That’s our vision – to create an inviting, collaborative space for exploring and learning new technologies, and to support student learning for our courses, in ways that resonate with today’s digital students. We hope this will further their interest in Information Technology.
We’re located in Smith 234, next to the trading room. The CIS Department also operates a PC classroom, Smith 212, which is available for classroom use and for individual quiet study.
