Taught Database Administration to undergraduate MIS majors and MBAs for the last 5 semesters.  This course covers database concepts such as ERDs, LDMs, and SQL utilizing Oracle and Microsoft Access.  The course utilizes Internet based courseware to support students outside of the class and to facilitate instructor/student communication and peer group communication.

University of Georgia - Database Administration

Taught Database Administration to MIS majors.  This course covered basic database concepts (see above for more details).

 

University of Georgia - Telecommunications

Taught Telecommunications to MIS majors.  This course covered networking and telecommunications concepts including the OSI model, TCP/IP, LAN and WAN design.

RESEARCH IN PROGRESS
1.
"The Knowledge Creation Cycle in Large IT Systems" (a multiple case study that investigates the knowledge creation cycle that occurs in large networked IT systems, collaborative author Dr. Richard Watson). Re-writing for ISR.

 

2. "Software Development Environments in E-Commerce: Structure and Communication", (collaborative authors Dr. Rosann Collins and Dr. Alan Hevner). 40 interviews conducted, data collected, analysis underway.

 

3.  "Impact of Time on the Retention of Declarative and Procedural Knowledge" (a longitudinal study to investigate the impact of time and individual characteristics on declarative and procedural knowledge about ERDs). (data collection has been completed). Collaborative authors Dr. Harold Webb and Dr. Creggan Gjestland.

 

4. Leadership and Creativity in Virtual Teams. Data collected, analysis efforts under way. This is a third creativity lab experiment to continue my work in this area.  My two earlier studies can be found in JMIS and in ISR). Collaborative authors Dr. Alan Dennis and Dr. Elspeth McFadzen.

 

5. “The Use of Explicit and Tacit Knowledge in the Identification of Software Errors” (The first of a series of articles that focus on software testing in a lab environment. Data collection is intended for Fall 2003.)
