Some Frequently Asked and Occasionally Even Answered Questions:
- Q: What is your favorite color?
- A: That depends on the situation. In most situations, blue and brown. (Actually, I
don't think anybody has ever asked this).
- Q: What kind of computer should I buy?
- A: This is a tough one. It depends on how much money you are willing to spend and what
you are going to do with the thing; a general rule is that you should buy it from somebody
who knows something about computers and will not go bankrupt next week (unless you know
enough to repair your own machine but if you know that much then you know much more than I
do and I should be asking you and not vice versa). If you are my friend, give me a call
and we'll talk about this; if you are not my friend, give me a call and I'll send you a
reasonable bill.
- Q: What kind of printer/modem/CD-ROM/... should I buy?
- A: See above.
- Q: What kind of music do you like?
- A: I have to admit that I am a friend of traditional western harmonies, although
in various forms. I love music which has been made with warm heart, at least decent
technical skills and a good sense of humor; if these criteria are filled, I normally like
the music, whatever the style.
- Q: What is your favorite character in an opera?
- A: At this moment, Lauretta in Puccini's Gianni Schicci (when we meet next
time, ask me why).
- Q: Why did you have Micaela as your favorate character for a long time?
- A: Because it was the first role in which I saw my wife (then
girlfriend) performing.
- Q: Why do you look so tired?
- A: That depends on the situation. In most situations because I have not slept
enough.
- Q: Why don't you get enough sleep?
- A: In some situations I simply have not been able to delegate
my work well enough. Occasionally, there are also some other reasons but I don't want
to get into those now.
- Q: Why do your flowers always die?
- A: To quote one of my former bosses, that is an extremely good question.
- Q: Why doesn't this list ever continue even though you have promised so
for the past six years?
- A: Hmm... I guess people have not been asking enough good
questions. If you have any, please send them to htopi@bentley.edu.
The list will continue in the near future...
